That’s why we offer homeowners and businesses the option to get mold testing after our inspection for an added fee. This testing will identify the type of mold present. Knowing how toxic the mold is will also help us determine the urgency of the situation. We treat all mold the same when it comes to remediation but toxic molds however require additional medical help from Dr’s to help your body detoxify. We offer both Air testing and EMMA testing to give you a full spectrum of what is going on in your environment.
We send all of our testing samples to a nationally known mold testing facility. It is important to have an independent 3rd party laboratory perform all of our Portland mold testing. This way you can be sure the results you receive are unbiased and won’t lead to unnecessary mold treatment and cost.

What To Expect During Testing
When you schedule a service call, we will actually go into your attic and crawl space areas to look for any visual signs of mold or water damage as well as common issues which cause moisture exposure and mold.
Our air testing service call includes 4 separate area mold air tests that we send off to a 3rd party laboratory for analysis. Within 3-4 days we’ll receive a detailed report on the mold levels and specific varieties of mold in the ambient air in your home. This service call is $350 for the first 4 tests plus ($50) each additional test you want depending on the size of your home and how thorough you want to be.
Our DNA and Mycotoxin testing is $400 per test and takes up to two weeks for results.
This will alert us if there are highly allergenic or toxic molds in elevated levels so we can establish what level of urgency we might be looking at to help in the remediation decision-making process.

STEP 1: We Take Mold Samples
We arrive for your free inspection to look at and evaluate any visual mold concerns. If mold is very visible and obviously in high amounts we usually don't recommend spending a bunch of money on testing.
Air sample testing will detect what mold spores are present in the air in various areas of your home including outside. We test outside to give a baseline to compare the mold samples to the indoor air.
We also offer EMMA tests. They evaluate and break the mold down to the exact DNA as well asd look for 15 differen't mycotoxins.
Both of these tests will confirm the presence of mold in your home or office and give us the information we need to develop the right treatment plan for you.
Step 2: We Analyze The Samples
We send these samples to a third-party laboratory for examination under a microscope or have an Environmental Mold and Mycotoxin Assessment performed.
The laboratory we use is completely unbiased and will give us a full report of what type of molds were detected. Depending on which test, the results will take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks.
Mold Types: Allergenic, Pathogenic and Toxigenic
Allergenic
Molds that cause and produce allergies and allergic reactions such as asthma attacks
Pathogenic
Molds that cause health problems in those suffering from an acute illness.
Toxigenic
Molds that produce toxic substances that can lead to dangerous or even deadly health conditions. This is sometimes referred to as “toxic mold.”
STEP 3: Results and Action Plan
Once we have your lab report back, we’ll contact you and go over the results. If they are considered high or unhealthy levels, we will recommend treatment.
Treatment will include going over the history of your home and have a deeper investigation on where the high level of mold is coming from.
If we can't find a moisture source, we’ll advise you what steps to take to limit humidity and maintain a dryer climate indoors to help prevent mold from growing.
The last thing we do after evaluation of your entire home, eliminating moisture contributors, removing saturated building materials and drying things out is fogging everything with our two part treatment.

Smaller droplets rebound from surfaces creating a vapor. The vapor, as well as the fumes, create an inescapable environment for mold and bacteria.
Wet Fog or Ozone
The larger droplets burst and create wet surfaces, like rain. The larger particle size also creates gaps in molecular coverage and leaves a residue.
